On June 5, 1975, a decree was signed for the establishment of the Arab Swiss Engineering Company “ASEC”. ASEC was born with the objective of introducing the advanced state-of-art know-how and technology to Egypt, to train the Egyptian specialists to improve their skills in the cement industry, and to introduce the new dry process technology that cuts down the energy costs.

ASEC was founded by the late Mr. Omar GUEMEI (1934 – 2004). In 2004, ASEC Group became a subsidiary of Citadel Capital, the leading private equity firm in the region.
